Two morning markets (Asaichi) are held in Takayama on a daily basis from around 6:00 (one hour later in winter) to noon: the Miyagawa Market along the Miyagawa River in the old town, and the Jinya-mae Market in front of the Takayama Jinya.The stands sell sells seasonal vegetables, fruits, and processed goods such as homemade pickled vegetables. ▼Gasyomura in Shiragawa-go Village（about 90min）

Shirakawa-go surrounded by mountains, paddy fields, trickling rivers flow through, known as the kingdom of forests and streams. The village Ogimachi in Shirakawa is one of the three world Heritage villages (Shirakawa-go, Ainokura and Suganuma in Gokayama) with the most households(152 households). River Oshirakawa flows out of Mt.Hakusan. Confluence with River Shogawa, it becomes white and cloudy. This is the origin of the name of Shirokawa-go, which means “the white river”. Ogimachi Castle Site Observatory is in the northeast of the village Ogimachi. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Gassho-mura Village and the Mt.Hakusan.
